Around the Squared Circle is a mixed-media installation and performance exploring the world of independent wrestling. Through photography and sound, the show focuses on the interesting dynamic between wrestlers and fans. Tino is able to isolate moments of high action, freezing the choreography of the wrestlers’ graceful movements. Showing wrestling in a gallery shifts the perception of wrestling from just sports entertainment to art. Through his work, Tino gives a platform to people who are underrepresented in mainstream media, allowing these people a chance to be in the limelight.
